Everything on this site comes from a workshop we have stood in — when you write to us, you are writing to the people who chose the piece, packed it, and watched the courier leave. We answer within two working days, in English, and we will tell you plainly if something is not right.

Custom pieces
Name the craft, the size and the date you need it by. Most workshops need six to ten weeks.

- After you order — where the piece is, which workshop made it, and what to expect when it arrives.
- Custom work — a size outside our range, a different finish, or a piece you saw in a workshop rather than on this site.
- Care and repair — how to keep silver and lacquer well, and where to send a piece back for attention.
- Wholesale and press — stockists, editorial enquiries and image requests for a maker’s workshop.
Where we are
We are based in Yingtan, Jiangxi, in south-east China — the town we work from, between the workshops and the couriers. Our post and telephone are below; the workshops themselves are scattered across five provinces, which is why a telephone call is often faster than a letter.
